Courage is Contagious - Issue 26 - Jan 2024
Welcome to the 2nd issues of 2024 and to a New Year.
Live Courageously Podcast Show EP # 1 of 2024 (#60)
Just had a fun conversation with Guest Chuck Slavin to kick off the New Year with my 1st Episode of the Live Courageously Podcast. We covered his acting and filmaking career, his involvement in leadership of SAG-AFTRA in New England, Covid and the film industry, his perspective and experience with masking, resisting Vaccine Mandates, the SAG Strike and the challenges facing actors and writers with AI replacing them. We also watched a fun trailer from a comedy he acted in “The Feuding Families”. Very fun role. You can watch it for free on Tubi.
And watch the Podcast below. Also I played the Podcast on IG a first for my Podcast Show. It will be a regular outlet weekly in the future.
The show was fun time with a fellow East Coaster. Check it out

A Fun Interview in Phoenix
I ran into two really cool Brooklyn Boricua women, the Perez Sisters at an event AMFEST in Phoenix. They were there representing RFK Jr’s Pac. We had a great conversation about politics, the elections, Covid and more and they asked if they could interview me for “Cafecitobreak” their Podcast show about RFK Jr who I see at Gold’s gym where we both work out and below is the link from a short clip they shared of my interview on X and IG. I plan on having them on my Live Courageously Podcast Show in the near future and also being on their Podcast Show as well, Stay tuned…

Give Hollywood Credit - Ok Just a Little Bit
I have to admit that I’m not a big fan of Hollywood films and don’t watch too many of them even though I work and worked in the film industry for decades as a Line Producer and Producer and before that as an actor . But occasionally a good film, with a good story comes along and when it does one has to give the writer, producers and director credit for a film worth watching. George Clooney’s “The Boys in the Boat” is an excellent film and is based on a true story. My favorite films tend to be ones based on true stories so this resonated with me. It’s also an underdog story which is another of my favorite stories.
Roger Ebert captures the essence of the film in his review “Clooney and screenwriter Mark L. Smith tell the story in a very conventional but sincere and compelling way, emphasizing the many obstacles faced by the team and the unlikeliness of their success. Ulbrickson puts his job on the line to bring the much less experienced junior varsity team to the Olympic qualifying race, where they compete against Ivy League athletes from wealthy families who had the resources to learn rowing from their early childhood. Soon, they face the best in the world at the Berlin Olympics, where, Hitler wanted to show Germany’s superiority. In one nice moment, as the Washington team is entering the arena, they have a brief conversation with American hero Jesse Owens, asking him if he is there to show the world what he can do. In just a few seconds, Jyuddah Jaymes as Owens adds another layer of meaning to the film, with dignity and grace, replying, “To show the people at home.” This is an old-fashioned story told in an old-fashioned way, and sometimes that is a good way to remind all of us we are better than those who didn’t believe in us.”
I recommend you check it out. It’s a feel good film at a time we could use some feel good entertainment and it’s a true story of some courageous people during a real difficult economic time in their lives and in America’s.

SERT Super Bowl Operation 2024
I’m sharing this to support some of the greatest people I know who are making a difference in rescuing children and youth who are trafficked. They do this work all year round and have been doing it for 20 years. They will be at this years Superbowl in Vegas with 25-30 Operators rescuing young women from bondage. The Superbowl is always a time of increased trafficking especially in Vegas.
I vouch for them 110 % +. Pastor Rudy Gonzalez and Lori Gonzalez and their family and all their Operators do not take a dime. They volunteer all their time and risk their lives.
Your donation will support the actual cost of the operation.
So as the New Year begins I ask you to find a way to donate something. Thanks and God Bless
Also tune in to my Live Courageously Podcast Show Sunday Jan 21 at 2pm for my conversation with Pastor Rudy Gonzalez
